The temperature has risen to freezing. The sound of the snowplow on our road wafts to me through closed windows and doors. The woodstove is resting. The birds are still working away on the five pound chunk of suet on the wire

I walked down to sedge meadow where I found mink and fisher tracks on the bridge. I followed the fisher tracks back towards the upper stream, then veered off to the west so I could find a spot in the trees for my hammocks

I took my snowshoes, fabric straps, a hammock, a shell center, pine needles, raffia, needles, clippers and a hunting knife down to the upper entrance to the marsh

Dee came over. We had a campfire in the tipiin the Lane Tipi. It was windy and blowing the smoke around and into the tipi, so I put the fabrics back up on the openings
